Class Schedule

*Instructor-led courses are available for groups. Please contact the Learning and Assessment Center at 517-353-4997 if you are interested in scheduling an instructor-led course for a group of participants.*

The ACLS course is intended for healthcare professionals and emergency personnel who participate in the management of cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. The blended learning course consists of an online learning component in addition to a hands-on skills portion.

After registration, participants will be sent a course link to access the online portion of the course. The self-directed online portion utilizes Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs) to achieve content mastery. The CAAs are adaptable based on the participant’s self-reported confidence as well as their knowledge of the cognitive material.

Upon completion of the online portion (Part 1), participants will receive a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be presented at the time of the hands-on skills session (Part 2). The hands-on skills session is scheduled on the date and time listed and takes approximately 2 hours.

There are no refunds for blended learning courses.

Course Fee: $320.00

The BLS course is intended for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic life support skills in a variety of prehospital or in-hospital settings. The blended learning course consists of an online learning component in addition to a hands-on skills portion.

After registration, participants will be sent a course link to access the online portion of the course. The self-directed online portion utilizes Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs) to achieve content mastery. The CAAs are adaptable based on the participant’s self-reported confidence as well as their knowledge of the cognitive material.

Upon completion of the online portion (Part 1), participants will receive a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be presented at the time of the hands-on skills session (Part 2). The hands-on skills session is scheduled on the date and time listed and takes approximately 90 minutes.

Course Fee: $130.00

The Family and Friends CPR course is intended for individuals with no medical training that want to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR for their own benefit. The course covers hands-only CPR, CPR with breaths, using an AED, and choking relief. This course does not issue a course completion card.

Course Length: 2.5 hours

Course Fee: $25.00 (includes student manual)

This course is scheduled upon request for groups of three or more participants. Please contact Katie Dotson at kdotson@msu.edu to schedule a Family and Friends course.

The Heartsaver Total First Aid CPR AED course is intended for individuals with little or no medical background who are required to complete training for their job or other regulatory requirements. The course is also intended for individuals who wish to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. The blended learning course consists of an online learning component in addition to a hands-on skills portion.

After registration, participants will be sent a course link to access the online portion of the course. The cognitive portion utilizes a variety of eLearning features to teach CPR and/or first aid knowledge. The participant can complete the online portion at their own pace and on their own schedule.

Upon completion of the online portion (Part 1), participants will receive a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion must be presented at the time of the hands-on skills session (Part 2). The hands-on skills session is scheduled on the date and time listed and takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Optional: Upon completion of the Heartsaver Total First Aid CPR AED modules, there is an option to complete child and infant CPR learning modules.

Participants will receive a course completion card that is valid for two years.

The PALS course is intended for healthcare professionals and emergency personnel who participate in the management of emergencies in infants and children The blended learning course consists of an online learning component in addition to a hands-on skills portion.

After registration, participants will be sent a course link to access the online portion of the course. The self-directed online portion utilizes Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs) to achieve content mastery. The CAAs are adaptable based on the participant’s self-reported confidence as well as their knowledge of the cognitive material.
